Boat-access only

This property is boat-access only so today we’re taking a 15-minute water-taxi ride from nearby Egmont. If you own your own boat, there are a number of marinas in the Sechelt Inlet from which to set sail.

We pass through Skookumchuk Narrows before arriving at Jakes Landing which is located on the east side of the Sechelt Inlet.

A short walk along the beach and up a gravel road brings us to your quiet retreat. Walking in from the road, we pass through a clearing that brings us to the cabin’s covered porch.

Inside we find a cozy, well thought out living space. To our right is a kitchenette with a sink and a propane fridge and oven. Above us in a loft that can be used as an additional bedroom or as extra storage. Underneath is the main sleeping space which is right next to the wood stove. A cushioned bench provides not only a place to relax but also provides more storage.

Exploring the yard

Back on the porch, we turn left and explore the rest of the yard. A deck with a semi-permanent awning provides some extra covered space. At the rear of the lot is the washing station which consists of another sink and some additional counterspace. This is also where we find the outdoor shower with its ocean view and on-demand hot water.

Behind us is a composting toilet and another sink for washing up. Our last stop is the wood shed with is also home to an ATV and a propane heater, both of which are included with the property.

This is the perfect home-away-from home for nature lovers. The location is remote and travel to and from the property would be much more convenient if you owned your own boat. But the beauty and serenity of the surrounding wilderness more than make up for the required travel.
