We’re in Gibsons, BC which is a 40-minute ferry ride from West Vancouver and today we’re exploring this an Airbnb suite with incredible ocean, island, and mountain views. The town is incredibly picturesque and everywhere you look, there are million-dollar views.
Built in 2018, this two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite is pretty much brand new. It’s entirely self-contained and has a full kitchen. It’s bright, modern, and clean and is pretty much the ideal place to stay when you’re visiting Gibsons.
At the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, this self-contained walkout suite is welcoming and sunny. You’re able to park in your own spot right outside the main entrance and there’s also a gate that opens to your outdoor space. Hosts Dyan and Dez live upstairs but the guest space is separate and private and entirely yours.
When you head inside, you find yourself in the ENORMOUS open concept living space. There are beautiful, heated concrete floors, 9’ ceilings, and two big windows that let in that big view! You overlook Keats and Bowen Islands and on less cloudy days, you’ll see the North Shore Mountains in the distance.
Open concept living space
The living room has a built-in entertainment centre with a big tv, a soundbar, and a fireplace. There’s high-speed internet for playing on your phone or checking your email. This is a comfortable spot for relaxing after spending the day exploring Gibsons.
The other half of this living space is the combined dining area and kitchen. A huge table easily seats four people and is perfect for family meals or playing a board game. And if your trip to BC’s Sunshine Coast is more business than pleasure, the table is serves as an oversized workspace.
The kitchen is well appointed and has everything you’d want or need during your stay. There are four stainless-steel appliances, including a dishwasher and a full-sized range and refrigerator. It’s fully stocked with dishes and utensils and even has smaller consumable items like tea and spices. A breakfast bar is a great place to enjoy a morning coffee as you wake up and get ready for your day.
There’s also a washer and dryer so you can do laundry during an extended stay without dragging your clothes to the laundromat.
Two bedrooms with ensuites
The primary bedroom is the larger of the two rooms and has a big closet and this striking feature wall. Both bedrooms have their own private ensuites. This four-piece is the larger of the two and had a good-sized vanity and a deep soaker tub with a detachable showerhead.
Like the larger primary suite, the second bedroom is cozy and comfy. It’s smaller than the other bedroom but it has the same heated concrete floors as the rest of the suite. It also has its own closet and its own three-piece ensuite.
Outdoor space and Lower Gibsons
Back in the living room, there’s a second exterior door that opens to your private outdoor space. This is the perfect spot to sit and relax with a couple of drinks while planning the next day’s adventures. All around you are are views of Shoal Channel, Keats and Bowen Islands, the North Shore Mountains, and Georgia Strait. There’s even a Zen garden and an herb garden for adding some fresh flavouing to whatever you’re whipping up in the kitchen.
After you’ve unpacked, you can explore nearby Gibsons Landing using the trail that starts right next to the AirBNB. Gibsons Landing is home to shopping and restaurants and the Gibsons seawalk. You can go for a swim at Armours Beach or rent kayaks and paddleboards at the harbour.
Stay the next time you’re in Gibsons
This is a great spot for a young, active couple that wants a break from careers and Vancouver. They could walk down to the beach or any of the restaurant in Lower Gibsons and enjoy some slower paced days and evenings.
For a lot of those same reasons, it’d also be a good fit for a small family. The suite has lots of room to accommodate three or four people and you’re walking distance to pretty much everything you want to see in Gibsons.
